BULLYING APRIL 16

I think it is very hard to stop bullying. Kids have always been bullying each other and it is just human nature to put others down to bring oneself up. I think if kids began learning from a very early age exactly the consequences of bullying, it might be less likely to spread to when kids are older. I believe teachers can try and stop it before it becomes a problem. Teachers should be fully aware of how every student interacts with each other and see the problem before it occurs. Confronting students in private is a good way to help stop bullying, when a teacher calls students out in front of the rest of the class this normally only creates more bullying for the student who is the victim. Parents can help bullying by supporting and giving praise to their children. When a child does not feel the need to increase his self-confidence bullying is not something they partake in. Students can help by standing up for one another. When a bully has an army of people supporting him, he is more likely to continue the torments, but when that army disappears the bully will slowly fade away and stop bullying. I believe cyberbullying is especially bad, because it is much easier for one to type things to another than it is for one to say things to another’s face. Cyberbullying presents a large problem because nothing is held back and everything is up for interpretation by the reader. I think punishment should be suspension from school or even internet privileges severely monitored or taken away all together.

NEVER FORGET 9

I am sure that I will never forget about how much sports mean to me no matter what age. Parents often forget that tournaments and state playoffs are the National Championships and Superbowls of our age and so they matter just that much to us. Adults often place a larger emphasis on school and homework, as they should, but they do not understand just how important some of these sporting events are to us. The people and friends we meet will forever be out LifeTeammates, unlike the grades we probably will never remember in the future.

TALENT MARCH 19

Although most people would think that I would teach a sport because that is all I do. I would like to teach something else that my Grandpa (Pop) taught to me. Pop owns a house up in the mountains in Pennsylvania. He is always teaching me things on his property like how to plant and how to take things apart. He also taught me how to make a good campfire. I think this is important and it is fun because I like smores! I would teach every one in the class how to set up a good fire that will burn for a long time. I wouldn’t actually start the fire because that would not be school appropriate.

GRAMMAR MARCH 12

I think the biggest thing I struggle with is using commas, semicolons, and colons. I know I have learned the reasons since I began learning to read and write, but I still never can remember exactly when to use them. My teachers often say that I have comma splices and I don’t really know what to do in order to fix them.

ASSISTANT FEBRUARY 28

I would have Albert Einstein as my assistant. Einstein was no doubt a genius and there are somethings I would like him to figure out for me. With the recent suicide of Junior Seau it has come to many people’s attention that there is a great risk in the hard hits of football and getting depression after retirement. I would like Einstein to help conduct research to see what can be done in order to make hitting in football “safer”. That way my mom would also be less worried when I was out on the field and less people would receive concussions.

ROMEO AND JULIET FEBRUARY 14

In my ending of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet still is put in to a coma like state and Romeo still buys what he thinks to be poison. The apothecary realized what was going on and ended up giving Romeo what Juliet had and so instead of dying he went in to a coma like state as well. When Juliet wakes up she thinks that Romeo has died and so she stabs herself, but not where it would kill her. Romeo wakes up and finds that Juliet has stabbed herself, so he runs back to the apothecary and asks for something to cure Juliet. The apothecary gives him another potion that will make her sleep and heal, but…. But Romeo runs out before the apothecary can finish the exceptions. Romeo gives her the potion and Juliet is healed, but falls back into a deep trance. Romeo goes back to the apothecary, but he is gone and so Romeo goes back to be with his lover before she dies. Romeo begins to cry and gives her one last kiss before he is gonna kill himself. Juliet then wakes up having been kissed by her true love and they live happily ever after.

MAGIC DUST FEBRUARY 7

I would not breathe the dust. If I were 26 I would have to get a real job and move out and be an adult. I would rather stay in high school with my friends and get to play sports and do things as a kid. I think my life would be better because I would have more freedom and I would get to stay out later. It would be worse because I would have to pay for everything and I wouldn’t have my mom and dad to help make my food for me. Ten years from now I am still funny and athletic. I don’t know what I am going to get a job in so I am not really sure where my life would be 10 years from now, I don’t even know what it is going to be like in a few years. I value the same things and I still love my family and friends, but hopefully in ten years I will be smarter and more mature.

CHILDHOOD JAN 30

My sister just got home from college last week and a lot of my childhood memories are with here. Although it is not my most pleasant memories it was pretty funny. MY sister and her friends used to always dress me up (when I was little) and they would put makeup and a dress on me. One time my sister put one of her dresses on me and her and her friends walked me around the neighborhood when I was dressed up. When we were walking back in to the house I had to go to the bathroom and I ended up peeing in her dress. I thought it was pretty funny, but Sarah did not find it funny at all.

3 GUESTS

If I could invite three guests to dinner they would be the three people I would like to meet. The first person would be Bill Gates, he is a very successful man and I would be curious to see what he has to say about the world. The next would be Ray Lewis I pick him because he is not only one of the greatest football players still playing but he has the best work ethic which I would want to know how he keeps it up and never slacks off. The final person I would invite to my dinner is Adam Sandler he has always been my favorite actor, and with 2 very serious guys this table would need some comedic relief.

Favorite Superhero

I am not really into superheroes and that kind of stuff, but I would have to say my most favorite superhero would be Spiderman. This is cause this is the only series I actually like and have followed since the start. I have seen all of the movies and have even played a few of the video games.

Saving Our World

The biggest concern for our current generation is our ability to talk to others in person. Not only my friends but myself as well have resorted to only texting and are not even calling each other on the phone anymore. This is a problem because for jobs in our future we will have to not only call people we do not know, but some will have to get up in front of many people and talk. I feel like that is what our new generation is going to struggle in.

There have been many tries in trying to change the generation and how they communicate and just how they act. One major contributer in trying to change our generation is human rights campaign. They did not see big differences in the current generation therefore funding was stopped.

My solution to bringing more people to people talking and better communication through out society would be as easy as just encouraging the youth to pick up a phone and call there friend instead of texting. The cost is not much a little for advertising to get people to catch on with the movement.

We could measure success by the amount of text messages sent by day. Success would be if that number decreases over time and we start to see more phone calls. The chances of accomplishing the goal are pretty good because having people talk on the phone instead of text is not a very hard thing to change, but could make a great difference to upcoming generation.

Technology

As technology improves so will knowledge. When a 20th century kid needs information or has a question they either ask Siri or look it up on google. In today’s world a very good amount of jobs use a computer in some way. Therefor in school we should be using the technology much more than we do. Teachers are starting to catch on with all the current generation technology. I think it is very important for teachers to start using technology. Soon kids will not know any thing else but how to use their phones, tablets and  laptops because this is how they live life out of school.
